Read why they participated in their survey.
NSS
James Mercieca (Chemistry) - 1 x Twilight Package at the Thermae Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Spa for two
I chose to complete the NSS because I wanted my experience at the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ to influence future students that are interested in joining. The survey gave me the ability to provide honest feedback on how university life is overall, and I felt that it was important to use my voice. I’d encourage every student to take the time to complete it!
Aleena Shaiju (Computer Science) - 1 x Twilight Package at the Thermae Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Spa for two
I chose to complete the NSS as it's a great way to make suggestions for course improvements, as well as a way to highlight all the things I've enjoyed! I believe the department will use all the feedback to improve the course even more for future students. The results from the survey will also be published anonymously to help prospective students make their choices, so there are lots of benefits to completing it.
Thomas Mckinnon-Bell (Physics) - 1 x English Sparkling Wine Afternoon Tea in the Pump Rooms for four
The NSS is a really valuable way to both show my appreciation for the things which Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ does really well, as well as sharing my feedback about any areas for improvement that still remain. It was a really valuable opportunity to make the student voice heard at the very highest levels in the university, and to work towards the best student experience possible.
Course-level Survey
Jules Stolz (Mechanical Engineering) - 1 x £70 cash
Addie Whitworth (Chemistry) - 1x £250 cash
I participated in the course-level survey because I felt it was important to give feedback and highlight improvements that could be made to my course for the benefit of future years, and give praise to certain aspects I found enjoyable and thought were well handled so that the course can continue to grow.
PTES
Oscar Duddy (Psychology) - 1 x £250 cash
I decided to complete the National Student Survey because I had just joined the university for my MSc after taking a year out. I was completely alone in this new place, and I decided to fill out this survey for a bit of fun, and in the back of my mind I was thinking how awesome it would be to win now that I was not working full-time anymore. However, as I filled out the survey I realised I had an opportunity to highlight some of the issues that I had during my undergraduate degree with the hope that someone may see it and make some beneficial change for the coming years.
Safeeya Mohamed (Life Sciences) - 1 x £70 cash
I completed the feedback PTES survey for the MSc in Advance Clinical Practice in Pharmacy as I felt that it gave me the opportunity to reflect on my learning and impact on my work experience, and share suggestions that could be considered which may benefit future students taking this course. It also gave me the opportunity to acknowledge and thank the lecturers for all their hard work and support in my learning journey.
PGT Dissertation Survey
Eve Smietanko (Social & Policy Sciences) - 1 x £50 Amazon voucher
I completed the survey because I know how important feedback is so that staff can understand what students enjoyed and what they think could be improved. This then means that future students can benefit. I also completed the survey because I loved my course and particularly wanted the lecturers to know how much I appreciated the experience they had given me.
Unit Evaluations
Zoe Mcinnes (Life Sciences) - 1 x £100 cash
I decided to participate because completing OUEs gives the opportunity to help improve elements of the course and improve the student experience for current and future students. Seeing the impact of changes from years above gives me confidence that our opinions are listened to, and is especially important for a course like mine that has had lots of recent changes to its structure and content.
Ifigeneia Manolou (Computer Science) - 1 x £100 cash
I chose to complete the course unit evaluations to express my opinion on the quality of my modules and explain what is working well and what is not. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact to the university by helping in improving the quality of modules for future students.
Merisse Baker (Mathematical Sciences) - 1 x £100 cash
I always participate in the Online Unit Evaluations as I think it's a crucial tool for communication between the students and lecturers. Throughout my 4 years at the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½, I have seen improvements in the delivery, assessment structure, and resources for modules, due to the high volume of feedback from students. It is also a great way to thank your lecturers and show appreciation for their help throughout the year.
Computer Science student - 1 x £100 cash
Social & Policy Sciences student - 1 x £100 cash
PTES for January Starters
Huyen Anh Ta (Management) - 1 x £20 Amazon Voucher
I decided to take part in the PTES because I believe that students’ feedback is an important way to improve the university experience. As a postgraduate student, I wanted to share my experiences and perspectives to help the University understand what is working well and where further improvements could be made. I hope that my feedback, along with that of other students, can contribute to creating an even better learning and student experience for future cohorts.
